COUPLES & RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
Understand the pattern. Strengthen the connection. Create change.
Relationship therapy includes people across a range of relationship structures and relational dynamics, including couples, business partners, people practicing consensual non-monogamy, and other important relationships where communication, trust, boundaries, or connection can become difficult.
You may care deeply about one another, have similar goals or values, and still find yourselves having the same argument, withdrawing when things become difficult, struggling to feel heard, or wondering why attempts to resolve a problem seem to make it worse.
Couples and relationship therapy provides a space to slow these interactions down, understand what is happening beneath them, and develop new ways of responding to one another.

Maybe you're asking:
Why do we keep having the same argument even when we both want things to change?
Why does one of us pursue a conversation while the other shuts down or pulls away?
How do we communicate without becoming defensive, critical, angry, or overwhelmed?
How do we rebuild trust after infidelity, betrayal, dishonesty, or another significant rupture?
Why do I feel alone or unseen even though I'm in a relationship?
How do we get emotional or physical intimacy back?
How do we navigate parenting, blended families, careers, finances, or other major life changes without losing our connection?
How can we disagree without feeling like we're on opposite sides?
Why can't we seem to effectively solve problems even though we want the same things?
we'll work towards:
UNDERSTANDING THE PATTERN
Recognizing the cycle that occurs when you become disconnected - what triggers it, how each person responds, and how those responses unintentionally reinforce one another.
DEEPENING CONNEcTION
Looking beneath anger, defensiveness, withdrawal, criticism, or frustration to understand the emotions and needs that may be harder to communicate directly.
CommunicatiNG differently
Developing practical skills to express needs, listen with greater curiosity, regulate difficult emotions, repair conflict, set boundaries, and approach challenging conversations more effectively.
CREATING GREATER CHOICE
The goal isn't to eliminate disagreement. It's to help each person recognize the moments when the familiar pattern is beginning and develop more intentional ways of responding.
HOW I WORK WITH RELATIONSHIPS
My approach is active, collaborative, and practical.
We'll pay attention not only to what you're arguing about, but to how the interaction unfolds and what may be happening emotionally underneath it.
I integrate evidence-based relationship approaches including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method, alongside attachment theory, parts work, communication skills, and other approaches when useful.
At times I'll slow an interaction down and help you understand it. At others, I'll share an observation, provide education, teach a specific skill, or respectfully challenge a pattern that appears to be keeping you stuck.
The aim is for therapy to provide more than a place to discuss problems. What we learn in the room should translate into different experiences outside of it.
